The Village
The Mainstreet initiative was designed to revitalize the Village through community involvement and new ideas. With progress limited to lower vacancies and a few cosmetic changes, rather than real community engagement.
Fisher Road Business District
Continue thoughtful improvements to the business corridor to bring awareness of thriving businesses.
Mack Avenue
Our city deserves a vibrant, welcoming median that matches our neighboring communities. Unfortunately, “lack of funding” continues to be the reason improvement is delayed.
Tree Canopy
Our community treasures its tree-lined streets. Restoring and protecting this canopy has been neglected, despite overwhelming resident support.
Infrastructure
From stormwater management to road repairs, our infrastructure projects have stalled or fallen behind schedule—again, funding is cited as the obstacle.
Department of Public Works
Our DPW does admirable work despite limited resources. Lack of funding continues to challenge their ability to deliver a higher level of service.
Department of Public Safety
Public Safety Department succeeds because of generous donors in conjunction with the City of Grosse Pointe Foundation.
Schools
With Maire School in our midst, there should be a stronger collaboration with the Grosse Pointe school district.
Housing
Two housing projects started and only one to be finished. The same answer holds back of the larger project, “a lack of funding”.
